Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario
Client: The Nguyen Family
Service: Sump pump system installation
Problem: Groundwater infiltration through basement slab and cold joints
The Nguyen family contacted Direct Waterproofing after noticing water pooling along the edges of their unfinished basement floor during spring thaw. Their property, located near a water-retaining green space, was experiencing hydrostatic pressure that caused water to seep up through cracks and cold joints in the slab.
Although no visible cracks in the foundation walls were found, moisture meters confirmed elevated humidity and active seepage from below. The home had no existing sump system in place to relieve groundwater pressure.
We recommended installing a complete sump pump system with a sealed basin and discharge line to effectively capture and redirect rising groundwater.
Scope of Work:
Following the installation, the family experienced no further water seepage even during heavy spring rain. The sump pump activates reliably during wet conditions, and the sealed basin helps maintain air quality and safety.
“Direct Waterproofing explained every step clearly. We were impressed by how quickly and cleanly they worked. Now we have peace of mind that our basement is protected year-round.”
— Mrs. Nguyen, Richmond Hill
