Location: Grimsby, Ontario
Client: The Novak Family
Service: Interior Waterproofing System
Problem: Persistent wall seepage behind finished basement panels
The Novak family noticed water stains and bubbling paint along the lower portion of their finished basement wall. The issue occurred most often after extended rainfalls. An inspection revealed hydrostatic pressure was forcing water through the cove joint (where the floor meets the wall), and moisture was seeping up behind the wall insulation.
Because the basement was fully finished and actively used as a recreation area, the family wanted a minimally disruptive solution that addressed the root cause.
Direct Waterproofing proposed a comprehensive interior waterproofing system, designed to redirect water entering through the foundation walls and floor into a safe, controlled drainage path.
Scope of Work:
The Novaks’ basement has remained dry since the installation, with no further signs of seepage or wall damage. The system was completed with minimal disruption, and the wall was refinished just days later.
“Direct Waterproofing’s team was neat, efficient, and thorough. We didn’t lose use of our basement for more than a couple of days, and now it’s completely dry—even after heavy rain.”
