Location: Burlington, Ontario
Client: The Rizzo Family
Service: Interior waterproofing with drainage membrane and sump pump tie-in
Problem: Water seepage through basement walls damaging drywall and flooring
The Rizzo family had recently renovated their basement in Burlington, but soon after completion, they noticed water stains forming behind the drywall and baseboards. The finished space began to show signs of moisture damage, including bubbling paint and softening floors.
An inspection revealed that hydrostatic pressure and minor wall seepage were allowing moisture to penetrate through the poured concrete foundation. Since exterior excavation wasn’t feasible due to a concrete driveway running alongside the wall, an interior solution was necessary.
Direct Waterproofing proposed a full interior waterproofing system along the affected wall to intercept and control the moisture from inside the basement.
Scope of Work:
The Rizzo family’s basement has remained dry and mold-free since the installation. They were able to refinish the area with confidence, and no further water issues have occurred even during spring melt and heavy rainfall.
“We were devastated when our new basement started leaking. Direct Waterproofing offered a solution that didn’t involve digging up our driveway, and it worked perfectly. Highly recommended.”
— Mr. Rizzo, Burlington
