Location: Waterloo, Ontario
Client: The Davison Family
Service: Foundation crack injection and sealing
Problem: Basement water seepage through a visible wall crack
The Davison family noticed water streaks forming along one side of their basement wall after multiple heavy rains. Over time, the affected area developed signs of mold and began soaking the carpet near the base of the wall.
Upon inspection, a vertical crack in the poured concrete foundation wall was identified as the point of entry. The crack had likely formed due to soil shifting and thermal expansion common in Waterloo’s seasonal climate. Although small, it allowed water to seep in during high-moisture conditions.
Direct Waterproofing recommended a high-pressure polyurethane injection to seal the crack from the interior and prevent further water penetration.
Scope of Work:
The repair completely eliminated water intrusion through the cracked wall. The family has since reinstalled their flooring and reported no recurrence of leaks during storms. Indoor air quality also improved, and no additional mold growth has occurred.
“This was a simple and affordable fix that solved a big problem. We’re thankful Direct Waterproofing acted quickly and kept us informed every step of the way.”
